About me The beginning: In a galaxy far, far away - No, that's another story. Here's mine: I was born in a small, Michigan town with one traffic light and little imagination. From the time I could hold a pencil, I wrote stories. And read them. "Get your nose out of a book" was a favorite saying of my mother's. I unashamedly used reading as an excuse to avoid many household chores. Life intruded and writing took a back seat to marriage and raising kids. One morning, I woke from a dream - the big, black moment of a story so compelling I spent all summer writing my way toward it. Another followed. About the same time, I stumbled into a local RWA meeting and got the help I so desperately needed. I joined a critique group
and they pulled and pushed, prodded and threatened me into honing my craft,
taking risks and submitting, submitting, submitting. They're still nagging. I'm
still writing. I don't intend to stop, if only to keep those voices in my head
from talking so loudly.
